Why RMS-Agnostic Matters
Station Draft does not connect to any RMS through an API. It produces a structured draft that the officer reviews and then manually transfers into their existing RMS incident record. Because the transfer is manual — copy, paste, or reference-while-typing — the export works with any system that can accept NERIS incident data.
The PDF export is the most portable option: officers can open it on a second screen or print it while entering data into their RMS. The structured data export labels each field using standard NERIS field names, making it readable regardless of which RMS the department uses.
The Workflow for Any RMS
- 1
Officer writes a short narrative
Arrival conditions, actions taken, outcome — a few sentences.
- 2
Station Draft generates a draft
Fields mapped from the narrative with confidence flags. High fields are ready. Review and Missing flags need officer input.
- 3
Officer reviews
The officer corrects any Review or Missing fields before using the output.
- 4
Officer transfers to their RMS
PDF export as a reference, or structured data as a labeled field list. The officer enters the data into their incident record.
- 5
Officer submits through their RMS
NERIS submission follows the department's normal RMS workflow. Station Draft is not involved.
RMS Systems Departments Use
Station Draft has been used alongside a range of RMS platforms. A few examples — not an endorsement or formal compatibility list:
Tablet Command
PDF export provides a portable draft for manual entry
Zuercher
Structured data export maps to standard NERIS field names
Central Square (Superion)
RMS-agnostic export works with any NERIS-capable system
Hexagon (Intergraph)
PDF and structured export compatible with manual transfer
Custom or state-mandated systems
Export format is designed to be system-independent
If Your RMS Is Not on This List
If your department uses a system not listed here, the workflow is the same. Station Draft produces a NERIS-aware draft. The officer reviews it and enters the data into whatever RMS your department uses. If you're evaluating the pilot and want to discuss your specific RMS setup, include that in your application — it helps us understand where coverage needs to expand.
